A graveside service for Jeffrey W. Hardy, 82, of Newark will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday June 9th at Wilson Cemetery for family and friends. Services will be officiated by Josh Fairchild. Jeff passed away Monday morning peacefully at home surrounded by family.
He was born December 28, 1942 in Dayton Ohio to the late Willard and Ardrey (Noland) Hardy.
Jeff graduated from Licking Valley with the class of 1960. He then proudly served in the US Army.
He retired as a Management Analyst at the Newark Air force Base after 25 years of service. He was active in many civic organizations including the Hanover New Home F & AM Masonic Lodge # 338, Teheran Grotto, Newark BPOE #391, Moose Lodge #499, Newark Eagles, V.F.W. #1060, American Legion Post #85, Amvets Post #61. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and playing golf; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, of almost 60 years, Judith A. (Jenkins) Hardy; daughter, Rolynda H. (John) Tassan; grandchildren, Cedric Tassan, Trac Tassan; great-grandson, Wyatt Tassan; sisters, Hope Fairchild, DiAnne Hardy, Verocca "Rockett" (John) Morgan, Tracey Hardy; nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Central Ohio and FirstLight Homecare for their wonderful care.

I was very sorry to read of Jeff’s passing. My husband, Herb Dysart, really enjoyed his friendship and good company. And I was quite touched by Jeff’s expression of sympathy when Herb passed four years ago.
