YADKINVILLE — Mr. Jeffrey Kirk Hobson, 52, of Aspen Street, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at his home. He was born Jan. 17, 1962, in Yadkin County. Mr. Hobson was a member of Yadkinville Lions Club, enjoyed fixing and detailing cars, participating in car shows and cruise-ins, but his greatest joy was his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Minnie Hobson; and grandfather, Olen Cranford. Surviving are his daughter, Paige Nicole Hobson-Alonzo, and husband, Alex, of Hamptonville; his mother and stepfather, Carol and Gerald Hutchens of Hamptonville; father and stepmother, Lawrence and Annette Hobson of Clemmons; grandchildren, Kelvin Alonzo, Bentley Roten and Alex Alonzo; his grandmother, Lucy Cranford of Yadkinville; two brothers, Eddie Hobson of Hamptonville and Joey Hobson and wife, Sandy, of Hamptonville; sister, Pam Tolar of Clemmons; nephews, Dillon Hobson, Trent Hobson, Griffin Tolar and Alex Hobson; niece, Lauren Tolar; great-nephew, Bryce Hobson; his special friend, Jay Lynn Cline; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Lancaster and the Rev. Randy Johnson. Burial will follow in the Yadkin Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Yadkinville Lions Club. Jeff and I were best of friends growing up. We had some great times and he taught me how to stand up for myself which I'm forever indebted. My sincere condolences to the family and I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you all and may God give you peace and comfort in the days and years ahead.
