Jeff, (Jake,) as I knew him, was no doubt the most knowledgeable person I ever met on the subject of music. Long before the internet, he told me facts and stories about people and rock bands that most people had never heard of. I was always amazed at some of the things he knew. Most people never knew these artists ever existed, much less the details of their lives like he did. I've been around music and musicians for 40 years, and he was, hands down, the best historian out there,
