Jeff ~1975

During the 1970s there was at Penn State a mature and focused undergraduate cadre which had launched its baccalaureate programs much later than had most other students, due its members’ military service. I was privileged to get to know Jeff at Penn State as one of those war veterans - he was unfailingly friendly, cheerful, smiling and welcoming, and disciplined. This is offered as a sign of respect for a good Nittany Lion and brother veteran.

I haven't seen Jeffery for 50 plus years. I was going thru some old pictures and I saw one of Jeffery, looks like he is about 13 in it. I googled him up and found out he had passed. I live in Phoenix and have for all my life Peg and Jeffery visited out here a couple of time. My dad was Earl Criswell one of the 8 kids. Nana (grandma, Mary) came out here by herself on the bus in the 80's quite amazing. I only met Jeffery a couple of times but I am saddened to here of his death. I was 6...

Jeff in Vietnam '69
Jeff was our friend in 1969 when we were assigned together to the 41st Artillery Group near Phu Cat in South Vietnam. When the Group Headquarters was sent home in the fall of that year, we were reassigned to other units and lost contact with Jeff. Jeff was a fun guy and a good medic who took his duty seriously. We were very pleased to discover that he became a doctor after being a medic. It obviously was his destiny. Attached is a photo of Jeff and another of our friends at Phu Cat. Now, we...

I just learned of Jeff's passing and wanted you to know what an impact he had on me early in my nursing career at Deborah. I was an "older" graduate nurse, but Jeff steered me through many a dumb moment. He made me angry, he made me laugh, he made me a better nurse by expecting the best I could give always. God bless him and all who loved him. My prayers are with you.

We re-connected 40 years after high school and played a lot of golf, locally and in Florida. Great guy, and I will miss him a lot.

I remember Jeff running around the corner from the pump room to room 4. It was Dr Fernandez's case- "gotta go on quick." I worked with Jeff in Lithuania and left Deborah a number of years ago, but often think of my friends there. He was a great guy, good friend and I will see him in heaven. I am blessed to have known him. My prayers will include his family and friends who have lost someone dear to them.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Jeff will be deeply missed. He was a colleague, teacher and friend. His zest for life and living was contagious. His kindness and caring to patients, especially the children was inspiring and well learned. I shall remember the "twinkle" in his eyes that accompanied his smile. Sheila, he will be missed by all.
Thinking of you,
