Jeffrey John Menth was born on January 8, 1958, in Monticello Village, Minnesota. He was the son of Michael and Arlene (McAlpine) Menth. Jeffrey was baptized as an infant on January 19, 1958, at the Church of St. Henry in Monticello, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth in Mound, Minnesota. He completed his GED and furthered his education by attending Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, Minnesota for 2 years. Jeffrey entered active military service in the United States Marine Corps on January 23, 1975 and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received an Honorable Discharge on July 22, 1979. Jeffrey was married to Diane Wegner, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Michael and Megan. Later in his life, Jeffrey resided in various cities in Florida and Minnesota before moving back to Hutchinson, Minnesota. Jeffrey held employment as a meat cutter and worked in construction. Jeffrey was a member of the Hutchinson American Legion Post #96. Jeffrey was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings with his son, Michael. He also enjoyed swimming with his daughter, Megan. Jeffrey was a very caring and giving person; he provided the materials and made birdhouses, which he donated. He loved his dog, Freeway, who he rescued while in Florida. Jeffrey especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jeffrey passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 55 years. Blessed be his memory.
