Jeffrey B. "Jeff" Richardson, 61, of Bringhurst, passed away Monday-March 1, 2021 at 8:54pm at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Hospital. He had been ill the past 4 weeks. He was born February 15, 1960 in Logansport, to his late mother Carol G. Flora, and his father Byrd "Rich" Richardson Jr, who resides in Lafayette. His marriage was to Carla A. Cottrell at the Flora First Christian Church on December 22, 1984, and she survives. He was a 1978 graduate of Carroll High School, received his BS in Education from Ball State University in 1982, and received his Associate degree in Electronics from Ivy Tech in Kokomo in 1990. He taught for 1 year at Glenbard East High School in Lombard, IL. He then started teaching Industrial Arts at Carroll Jr-Sr High School in 1984 to 1987, and during his time at Carroll, he coached varsity swimming & track, and coached JV football. He then went to to work at Delco Electronics' in Kokomo for 18 years. He had Richardson & Sons Construction of Bringhurst for over 30 years, and enjoyed driving around the county remembering all the jobs they had done. He then started work at Chrysler in Kokomo as an electrician in 2012, and was currently employed there. He and his family attended the Bringhurst United Methodist Church, and he had served as a trustee. He and his family enjoyed boating and water activities. They always looked forward to vacation's to Dale Hollow Lake. He raised Simmental Angus cross cattle. He enjoyed coaching his son's during baseball season and whatever other sports they were in. Either on the field or from the stands, they always knew he and their mother was there supporting them. Jeff never knew a stranger, and enjoyed hanging out at the Corner Café in Flora with his friends or cruising the neighborhood on his golf cart. Family was everything to Jeff. He loved to have his boys and families over to their house, just being together for whatever reason. He dearly loved his wife and sons, daughter in laws, and his 8 grandchildren so much. Surviving-Wife Carla A. Richardson of Bringhurst; sons-Grant & Amber Richardson of Bringhurst, Chase & Allison Richardson of Russiaville, Brock & Diana Richardson of Burlington, Lance E. Richardson at home, Heath A. Richardson at home; father-Byrd "Rich" Richardson Jr of Lafayette; sisters-Rhonda Cowell of Maryville, TN, Karen & Bob Francis of New Waverly, Patty Vibbert of Lafayette, Charisse Robertson of Lafayette; brothers-Tim & Galina Richardson of Concord, CA, Steve & Leslie Richardson of Fort Wayne; 8 grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a brother in law David Cowell. Private family service will take place on Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Brad Burton will officiate, interment at Zion Cemetery. A public celebration of Jeff's life will take place on Sunday March 7 at Burlington Faith Church of Christ, the family will receive friends from 1pm to 3pm at the church.
