Several articles have been written about Jeff's carvings, and he was once quoted saying, "I've been pretty lucky with it, I guess. I've sold them to a lot of interesting people," he said. "I've got birds around the world."
In addition to his wife, Jeff is survived by his two devoted daughters, Kyle Ann McCarthy and her husband, Christopher and Kelli Lyn Smith, both of Fairfield and his three cherished grandsons, Colin, Gavin and Dylan. He was predeceased by his sister, Gale Lorden.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 S. Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. Interment is private. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. I was saddened to hear about Jeff and also Gale. I grew up right across the street from them. The Deli Bake made my Wedding Cake and catered the whole gorgeous day. Additionally Jeff inspired my Dad, Willis Holt of Fairfield, to do some bird carving himself. I wish you all many fond memories of the whole family ( Harry was always such fun!) and may you be able to see Jeff living on in your children and grandchildren. I still live across the street from the house, on Mortimer St., which now...
