Not sure what to say?

Having known Jeff for the past 10 years I know that I will miss him. We met on the AIDS Vaccine ride through Montana and became fast friends...I say that two ways.... fast in our friendship and fast on our bikes. My thanks to Jeff's family for sharing him with me on those long hours on the bike. My prayers are with Martha and the children.

I first met Jeff during our freshman year at MSU. He was from a mystical town he called Blancsville, referred to his parents as Char and Hudge, called his sister Cindy, Alice and was known as Weasel, shortened to Wease. From day one, he called me only by my middle name, Jo. Bob, Jeff and I spent many a night together in East Lansing and I ventured to Blancsville for many holidays. After listening to Jeff describe the wonders of Vassar Clement's fiddle playing or to watch him 'act out' a scene from "The Sporting Club" you just had to go and get "Hillbilly Jazz" or find and read all of the works of Thomas McGuane. And you would be enriched for the effort because Jeff always knew where the good stuff was. During the hard-partying summers of the '70s, Jeff's main drink of choice was: Life. My thoughts and prayers are with the Williams family. My childhood memories of Jeff were, all of the fun times we had as kids playing on Birchcrest.

God bless Jeff's family as you go through life without him. He sounds like he grew into a wonderful man. I grew up on Birchcrest Dr. in Flint with Jeff until we were 11, then we moved away. You will all be in my prayers. Kathy (McGaffigan) Vernier, MI

My deepest sympathy to Jeff's family. I was a friend of Jeff's father Jack who often spoke of his son with great pride and acknowledgement that Jeff was the best fly fisherman he had ever seen. My heart shares in your pain.
