Jeff Tindall was my track coach at Langley High School for three months in the spring of 1968. His impact on me was enormous: in six words yelled from the side of the track during the first 880 race of my life, he directly affected the course of my future. I owe much of who I am today to him, to those words, and to the confident expectation of excellence he communicated during the three brief months he coached me. It is impossible to overstate the positive impact he had on my life.

You were such a positive influence in my life as a student-athlete and young man, and continued to influence me as a coach of young athletes.
