CORRIDINO, Jennie "Jean" Nancy (Mancaniello)
Jennie "Jean" Nancy (Mancaniello) Corridino, of Cromwell, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Friday, (August 9, 2013) and went to be reunited with her beloved late husband, Bruno Corridino. She was born in Hartford on March 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Lanzino and Philomena (Gioscio) Mancaniello, and lived in Hartford and Wethersfield for many years before moving to Cromwell. She graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1938. Jean worked for many years alongside her husband, sister and brothers-in-law at the family owned business, C&R Oil, on Goodrich Street in Hartford. She was an avid reader and took great pleasure in spending time with her twin daughters and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Corradino with whom she made her home; her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Ken Kelly of Cromwell; her grandchildren, Peter Smola and Alicia Sbona of Newington, Melissa Smola, also of Cromwell, James King and his fiancée Juli Bryson of Merchantville, NJ, Jennifer Cabrera and her husband Alex of Middletown and KJ Kelly and his wife Kerry of Stamford. She also is survived by four loving great-grandchildren, Jazmin Smola, Logan and Preston King and Aninah Sbona; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Connie Corridino and Ann Martocci; and a brother, Lanny Mancaniello.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St. Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Church, Hartford. So sorry to hear of Jeans passing.My family and I grew up with the Corridino Family and went to St Lukes Church.I passed C & R Oil on my way to Burr Jr High.Those were great times in the South End.I miss all of them and the way we were.
