 Jennie Irene Cwieka (Milewski), 96, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. She was the matriarch, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of her family. 


Born in South Deerfield, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Turback) Milewski. She had one sibling Irving who predeceased her in 2017. Jennie was the loving wife for 50 years to Edward Cwieka of Wilbraham who died in 2002. Survived by her beloved children Celeste Pasterczyk (Michael) of Chicopee, Laureen Cote (Jim) of Westfield and James Cwieka (Kathy) of Baltimore, her six grandchildren, Matthew, Amy, Ann, Denielle (Ben), Andrea and Christine (Garrett) Her traditional homemade golumbki for "Wigilia” on Christmas Eve will be missed and her three great grandchildren Jacoby, Sophia and William were the twinkle of her eyes. 


      Jennie graduated from Deerfield High School and Northampton Commercial College. Employed at Sears in Greenfield as unit control manager and later at Nonotuck in South Hadley. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Church, now Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke, volunteering at the church bazaars and Tuesday night bingos. Jennie stayed active with the Rosary Altar Society, South Hadley Senior Center and USO at Westover. Her retirement days were spent traveling to Europe, driving cross-county to California twice and spending time on Cape Cod. She enjoyed golfing, swimming and cross-country skiing. 


In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the South Hadley Council on Aging. 


Her funeral will start with visitation at O'Brien Family Funeral Home in South Hadley on Saturday January 18th from 9:00 am to 10:15 am followed by a Mass at Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke a 11:00 am.
