As the youngest and last of the many foster children, and living in more than a dozen foster homes, Ma Gomez was the only foster mother I called “Ma”. She had that loving caring nature that made me feel comfortable to call her Ma. Growing up, I told many stories of living with the Gomez family, and I always referred to her as “Ma Gomez”.
