Jennifer (Jenny) June Simmons 

Jenny was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on February 7, 1974, daughter of Darrell (Lori) Buol and Carrie Reile. She passed peacefully on January 16, 2026, having spent her final days being surrounded by family. 

Jenny grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and went to Lincoln High School before receiving her GED. After achieving her degree, she spent several years working in publishing and nursing care. 

On June 23, 2017, Jenny married Randy Simmons in Vermillion, SD. Their marriage flourished in Monroe, SD. They joined families with her daughter McKayla Buol, her son Kayden McCoy, and stepson Riley Simmons. 

Jenny had a soft spot for animals, especially her own. She had a big heart and a humorous personality. She had the honor of meeting her first grandson, Cash Oien which she always called her prince. She loved to spend her weekend watching movies, traveling with her husband (going to Onawa, IA), and visiting Blue Lake at Lewis and Clark State Park.

Along with her husband Randy Simmons, Jenny is survived by her children, McKayla (Cauy) Oien, grandchildren Cash and Paisley Oien of Baltic, SD, Kayden McCoy of Monroe, SD, and stepson Riley Simmons of Omaha, NE. Mother, Carrie Reile, Father, Darrell (Lori) Buol of Sioux Falls, SD. (Siblings) Sister, Tonya (Don) Hartje, Brothers, David Buol, Matt (Des) Buol of Sioux Falls, SD, and Brandon (Lisa) Buol of Parrish, FL. (In-laws) Duane Simmons of Onawa, IA and Patricia Simmons of Sioux Falls, SD.  Followed by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Home with Visitation at 9 AM.  Burial will follow at South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery.
