Jennifer L. (Hauschild) Englert
1970 - 2023
Belchertown
Jennifer Lynn (Hauschild) Englert, 52, passed away on June 6, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center. Jennifer was born in Holyoke on November 20, 1970, to Bryan and Barbara (Denis) Hauschild. Jennifer was a 1988 graduate of Granby Jr-Sr High School and went on to receive her Associate Degree at HCC and furthered her education at AIC where she received her Bachelor's, Master's, and CAGS in Education. She worked as a teacher and counselor at Fairview Elementary School in Chicopee. As a teacher, Jen spent many years in the classroom both in Springfield and Chicopee, where she touched the hearts and minds of countless young students. As a counselor, her ability to reach both students and staff is something that only a few individuals can do. On any given day, Jen could be found in her office with a staff member in need of advice, support or just friendship. To say that Jennifer has made an impact on the lives of many is an understatement. Days will not feel the same without her smile, quick wit, and contagious laugh. Throughout her many years in education Jen built strong relationships with students, staff, and parents who relied on her for both support and guidance. Jen was an avid skier in her younger days and would make many trips to Mt. Tom. Feigning her skiing ability, she tried to catch the eye of ski instructor "Tom". She succeeded (as with most things she tried) and she and Tom were married April 16, 1994, and blessed with 29 years of happiness and the birth of two sons. Jennifer loved adventure and would travel to different places with her family, always on the lookout for the next great adventure. She loved vacationing in her parents' cottage in Maine during the summer and on Hilton Head Island during winter breaks. Weekend trips to New York City at Christmas time with her mom and sister were exciting and the trip would not be complete without dinner at her favorite restaurant "Tony's DiNapoli". Jennifer is predeceased by her grandparents; Arthur & Betty Hauschild and William & Mary Denis, and several aunts and uncles. She leaves behind her loving husband Thomas M Englert and their 2 sons; Thomas (TJ) and Hunter of Belchertown, her parents Bryan and Barbara Hauschild of Granby, a sister Beth Kwasnik (Ken) of Belchertown, 2 brothers; Bryan Hauschild II (Michelle) of Belchertown and Jarrett Hauschild of Granby, 4 nieces; Kendra, Kalene, Brianna and Paige, 3 nephews; Erik, Chase and Bentlee, great-niece, Leighton, great-nephew, James, uncle Mike Denis (Sue), aunts; Cecelia Hauschild, Linda Baranowski (Marion), and Patti Dufault (Bob Mercier), mother-in-law, Maryellen Englert of Belchertown, father-in-law, Franz Englert of Ludlow, brother-in-law, Peter Englert (Sandy) of Montpelier, VT and her best friend, Julie Ogg. The Englert and Hauschild families offer sincere thanks to the dedicated and caring staff at Baystate HVCC and comfort care units. Calling hours will be held for Jennifer at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St. South Hadley, MA from 3-7 pm on Friday. Friends and family are invited to meet for a funeral service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 485 Appleton St. Holyoke, MA 01040 at 10 am on Saturday. Burial to follow at West St. Cemetery in Granby, MA. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital (stjude.org/donate) Shriners Children's hospital (donate.lovetotherescue.org) Autism Connections (https://autismconnectionsma.org/en) and Springtide Child Development (https://myspringtide.com/).
