Gate City, VA – Jennifer Ruth Whitley Jones, 65


Jennifer Ruth Whitley Jones, age 65 of Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s,  Saturday, April 7, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.


She was born in Cullman, Al on February 15, 1953. Jennifer was a member of Community Campus FBC Weber City, She loved the outdoors, walking, swimming and camping.


She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Marie Whitley; stepmother, Laura Whitley; mother and father-in-law, Mable Christine and Elmer C. Jones.


She is survived her husband, Jeffery L. Jones; father Robert Whitley; a daughter, Katie Peak (Rick); a son, Zeke Quillen; grandchildren, Ryker and Radley Peak; sister Amy Howe (Tom); brother, Rob Whitley Jr. (Kym); several nieces, nephews, grandnieces.


The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Community Campus FBC, at 614 Broadwater Ave, Gate City, Virginia 24251.Funeral service will follow with Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.  Pallbearers will be family and friends. As a teacher, honorary pallbearers will be the children she touched.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to FBC Weber City /Community Campus, 155 Shady Elm Lane, Weber City 24290.


The family wishes to extend special thanks to, caregivers, Ms. Morelock, Ms. Shoemaker, Ms. Castle, Ms. Easterling, Ms. Hensley and Ms. Fugate. Also Caris Healthcare, Dr. Daniel Carroll and staff, Duke University, Dr. Burke and Miss Debra Heydt.
