Friends thought flight attendants Jennifer and Kenneth Lewis were such a good match that they collectively referred to them as "Kennifer." Though the husband and wife team from Culpepper, Va. often worked separate flights, they were together on American Airlines Flight 77, planning to vacation when they reached Los Angeles.

Jennifer, 38, loved a good practical joke, shoes, horseback riding and her horse, which she named Poet. Ken, 49, a former ski instructor, was into hiking, climbing, golfing and was always by his wife's side during a horse show. They were introduced by another flight attendant at a party.

It was "a match made in heaven," said longtime friend Brent Payne, who owned the horse farm where Jennifer took riding lessons. "They were such a devoted couple. And as close as they were, I don't know how one could have dealt being without the other one," said Payne. "The families drew comfort in the fact that they were together (on the flights), protecting each other."

Not sure what to say?

I don't know if the board is still open but wanted to leave a thought for couple's families - just in case. I for one will never forget that day or the loss felt by all who no longer have their family and or friends by their sides. God bless

It is certainly a comforting thought that these two were together. They seemed like a beautiful couple. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of their family and friends who still mourn this loss. We will never forget.

You and your husband are remembered and your lives celebrated. May God richly bless your family and friends with peace and hope

I saw your bench today in Culpeper thanks to Alan Wallace, Ft Myer Firefighter. I joined the Active Duty military because of 9/11. Blessings to as serve Above. Janet

Thinking of both of you today Jennifer and Ken. A moment of silence and a prayer. Thank you.

I never knew you or Ken, but my Aunt Cim looks almost exactly like you with the smile and the blond hair along with Ken who looks like my Uncle Kent and every time I see or think of them, it reminds me of the two of you. I can't imagine what the final moments must have been like, but I now know you and Ken are in a much more beautiful and better place where you'll always be radiant and forever young.
