A Reunion Too Soon
Jenny Low Wong came to live with an aunt in New York City when she was 12 years old, because her family in Venezuela thought there was more opportunity for her here. And there was, although she ended up finding success by looking back at the part of the world she came from.

Ms. Wong, at 25, had just been promoted to assistant vice president of Marsh & McLennan, in the market information group. Ms. Wong, fluent in English, Spanish and Cantonese, was in charge of analyzing the Latin American market.

Her parents were originally from China, said her sister, Mary Low Wong, and moved to Venezuela as children with their parents. One by one, their three children came to the United States. Ms. Wong and her brother, William, planned to go to San Francisco, where Mary Low Wong moved this summer, to spend Thanksgiving together. Instead, the family had an unplanned reunion after Sept. 11. Ms. Wong's parents came from Venezuela, and her maternal grandmother from Hong Kong.

Jenny and I went to school together in Caracas, Colegio Madre Matilde. We lived in the same neighborhood, Alto Prado. I remember her as a clever girl. We used to have fun! I'm sure she is in a better place right now watching over her loved ones!

In remembrance....

Jenny, I think of you often and I pray in my heart that you are joined by other angels in heaven. I was blessed to have known you - you are one of the sweetest and kindest people I ever met. I am so sorry you had to leave so soon.

I will never forget you.

Dear Jenny,

There isn't a day that passes that I don't think of you. I will always remember you as the sweet, fun-loving person who greeted everyone with a smile. Thank you for all the memories filled with laughter, tears, worries and good eating! Most of all, thank you for giving me the honor of having you as my friend.

My deepest sympathy to your family.

Jenny and I were friends who met at Stern, our college. After college we would get together every couple of months, maybe once a month in the summer, not often but each time was special. Jenny was a sweet and kind person with an innocent outlook on life. I thank God for the warmness of knowing her. She introduced me to paella and sangria at a Spanish restaurant on University Place we would go to. For all of these and many more memories, Jenny will always hold a special place within my...

Today, 9/10/02, I received Jenny's name on a memory card. I pray for her family, friends and all those who greive for her that God's arms will be wrapped around them and they can find solace and remeber all the good memeories! God bless you Jenny and all who lost their lives on 9/11/01.

Jenny and I met at a Christmas in July charity event, painting the home of an elder woman in Harlem. We both worked for Marsh but in different departments/locations. We meshed so easily that after the charity event we met on a number of occasions just to spend time together and catch up. Jenny was a wonderful human being. It saddens me think a light so bright was extinguished so soon. I miss you Jen.
