Jerald Truman Ball

Sorry to hear about professor Jerry Ball. I have great memories from Cal State Long Beach he was my calculus I and II math teacher. He was very personable, funny, caring and super smart. He shared with us how much he loved his family and traveling. Such a role model. He is very special and will always be remembered.

I took so many humanities classes from Jerry in the late 1970s at Las Positas that I don't even remember which class this anecdote is from. But we had read the novel Shogun, set in medieval Japan, and to cap off the experience of reading the novel, Jerry took the class to a Japanese restaurant in San Francisco. I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Ball as an instructor for a logic course at Las Positas many years ago. He was a wonderful teacher. I'm very sorry for your loss.

He will be missed by all who knew him. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Ball family.
