Read MoreMoved from Indiana to La Verne in December, 1946. Started the 6th grade two days before Christmas vacation. On the playground the first day of class, Jerry came up to me and started talking, introducing the others in Mrs Sickel's class. We were good friends all through the 12th grade, from Lincoln Elementary to Bonita High.

Other than his brother Jim, I may have known Jerry longer than anyone as we were in a playpen in diapers together while our mothers were at Sew and Chat. Jerry was in my kindergarten class and graduated high school with me. He was a wonderful man and it was evident from his early childhood that he would be just that. He had a twinkle in his eye, a smile for all and it was a treasure to have known him.
What a treat for the family to have had him as husband, father and grandfather....
