Not sure what to say?

Condolences on Jere's passing. I only recently learned of it from the University of North Dakota Alumni Review. I met Jere in 1961 at UND. I made a bike trip to Europe in the summer of 1962. Jere was a tour leader for a group of students visiting Sweden. At the end of the summer we rendezvoused in Paris and took a train to Berlin where I thought we would tour a bit and have a beer or two. Surprise! Jere was there to meet Birgitta. So sorry to hear of Jere´s passing. I worked with him at the College of New Jersey. He was a generous and compassionate individual. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. Patricia Sancho Peterson Philadelphia, Pa

Happy to know Jere & Birgitta and be their neighbors on the lake for 22 years. If I can somehow manage to spend time and tend to my camp chores into my 80´s it will amaze me. Birgitta once told us that Jere stays in shape by splitting 7 cords of firewood each fall. We will miss you Jere. RIP. It´s not the same being at our camp with you not there!

Please accept my condolences.

Birgitta, Gail and I send our condolence and a wish for peace for you and your family. Frank Erath

Jere certainly was a man of profound personal integrity, graciousness, and compassion. A gentle soul through and through, and a man who never, ever expressed a disparaging word or deed. Jere was truly a "gentle-man" with whom I had both the honor and pleasure of knowing, working with, and advocating for the highest ideals of graduate education at The College of New Jersey. I will truly miss Jere's physical presence in this world, but I will never forget his open and all embracing human spirit...
