Not sure what to say?

I am so glad Jeremy is being remembered. He was true a gentleman, a wonderful writer, a great lawyer and advocate - and a good friend. He made the world a better place. I still miss him so much.

I met Jerry in about 1972 when I worked in practically my first job as a legal secretary at Lewis and Roca. He was always wonderful and encouraging to me. I went on to college and law school. After I became a lawyer, at various times throughout my career, Jerry never failed to take my call when I had a tough question. He was also a great mediator on cases that I had with him. He was definitely one of the smartest, classiest, and nicest lawyers I ever met. We will all miss him immensely! Sandy...

I will miss Jerry

I will miss Jerry because he was always smiling -- always happy. In his presence you intuitively knew that you were with a wonderful spirit.

Jerry was a terribly bright and good lawyer. He had a beautiful heart, from which he led.

Mike Dann (St. Michaels, MD)

Dear Penny, Jerry was one of the funniest, kindest and most generous men I've ever had the good fortune to know. He was a wonderful and fun creative writer and as a lawyer, he was a true gentleman. If anyone asked me to describe him, I would say he was always smiling, always had a kind word for others, and never complained although I know he had reason to sometimes. To me, he was my Atticus Finch. What a great loss to a world that doesn't have Jeremy Butler in it. I know he loved you so...

Penny and family--I was so sorry to hear about Jerry. He was a wonderful guy, a kind person, so interested in everything and always fun to be around. My sincere sympathy to you all.

Jerry was Justice Struckmeyer's law clerk in 1959-60 the year after me. He was a brilliant lawyer and a really good person. He spent his professional life doing good for others and keeping a low profile while he did it. He will be greatly missed .

I always found Jeremy to be a kind lawyer practicing in a very unkind area of law. He was a gentleman. He shared his experience without coming off as arrogant. I am glad I knew him.

Jerry's life was worth living and I would gladly have lived it. He was so full of life and lived every minute of it. It was truly our pleasure to have known him. We send our deepest sympathies to Penny and the family for their loss. He touched a good number of lives and will be truly missed.
