Thanks, all, for your kind words. I just wanted to acknowledge these before the guestbook gets locked down. He was never much for memorials, but your words mean a lot to his family. -Burke

Jake and I worked on atmospheric chemistry problems from the time we met at a Fort Lauderdale DoE meeting in 1972 until the nineties when I was at WMO. Such a wonderful person and great scientist!

Jake was a truly fine scientist and an inspiration to me throughout our 30+ years of periodic collaboration. But more than that, he was a friend and a pleasure to be around. I will miss his perspective on the world and his sense of humor.

This is just a wonderful memorial to Jake, made me feel so good to have known him and shared a few adventures (actually, mainly my late husband in the duck blind with Jake), and simultaneously so sad to lose him. He was one of a kind such a privilege to know.
