Vrooman was one of my best friends and brothers in Geramny. We use to go camping and I taught him how to rappel in Little Swiss. We trained together and hung out together. One of the best men I have ever known. I was sent to fort Knox and I learned later of what happened. It has been really hard on me for a long time knowing what happened and the fact that I wasnt there with him. I was supposed to be there but the Army sent me elsewhere. Derek that was my nickname for you brother I am drinking a beer for you I will always miss you and your family god bless them and you will never be forgotten. I sit here thinking of many memories and laugh I keep a pic on my desk to remind me what a hero and a friend looks like. I hope you are not tanning in heaven because you know I thought that was weird. I know your kids will be great if they are half of what you were I miss and love you brother.
