Not sure what to say?

When I moved to Kendal in 2013, Jerry was still leading the Saturday morning walking group that each Saturday visited various parks in the area. He was a great leader and became a good friend.

I knew Jerry for the many years that he and I were colleagues and friends at Lutheran Hospital. More than being a very capable pathologist, he helped me to understand aspects of pathology I was ignorant of and always in a most professional and gracious way. Even more to his credit was his involvement in and support of a group of worthy and needy social causes. He will be missed

It was always a pleasure to see Jerry and assist in his care. He will be missed. Prayers to all the family.

The world will miss this gentle soul. Jerry was a good, kind man with an embracing spirit. I'm glad to have known him.

Jerry was truly a GENTLEMAN. I met Jerry late in his life as he was involved with the Cleveland Hiking Club where he had been President of the Club from 1997 to 1999. Jerry was a dedicated person who gave of himself in everything he did. We will miss his wit and stories. Dave Richards

Jerry was such a loving person & good friend. I will miss his hugs most of all.

Jerry I will miss you. Way back when, you were the Fitness Committee Chair and brought this cool idea of a Fun Fitness Week. I learned some much from you. Your questions always helped to clarify what I was trying to communicate. I wish I had a photo of us from Fun Fitness Days. Thank you for teaching me Rummikub. I will always remember you every time I play the game. Your encouragement of others to participate and try new things always made my day. May you find moments of light...

My condolences to the family and close friends of Jerry. He was a very kind and helpful human being, whom I got to know when I moved to Kendal at Oberlin retirement community ten years ago. At the time, I joined the morning walking group that visited parks throughout the county every Saturday morning, which Jerry then led. Even after he could no longer lead the walking group, our friendship continued and we found ways to get together and communicate. Sadly missing Jerry, Dwight

I have known Jerry Berner ( always called him `Dr. Berner´) since 1971, first as a mentor and later as a colleague and friend. Dr. Berner was a great humanitarian, excellent pathologist and a man of varied talents and interests. His legacy will live in our hearts! Our condolences to the Berner family. Indira and Bala Pillay
