I wrote a short story about Jerry and David. The story was called Polk Street. Very fond memories of their kindness.

I knew them in San Francisco and later wrote a short little story about them. Didn´t know they lived in Redding, close to me. Nor did I know of Jerry´s death. Both were in my memories for decades. If David is still here, I would love to share my little story.

I did not find out about Jerry's passing until right now. I am so saddened. As a 19 year old country girl in a big city for the first time, Jerry and David took me under their wing as an employee at their San Francisco book and record store. They were not just my bosses, they were like uncles to me, and helped me as they did so many other people I saw touched by their humor and kindness. I am sad that I won't be able to hear Jerry tell one of his signature jokes again. Love and hugs to David.

I will always remember Uncle Jerry's elaborate sense of style, great cooking, biting wit & great sense of humor. Loved his Gazpacho! Gone way too you young.

I worked at the Real Estate Company that Jerry owned Paramount Real Estate -- he was so great, always happy, always wanting to make everyone around him happy and he did so many special things for all of his agents. He will be greatly missed!!!!
