We are so grateful that you shared your Dad and Grandpa with us in Florida when he visited. Your stories are wonderful about yout Dad and Mom and all the balls they attended and how much he loved her and all of you. You are a true example of their love.

My deepest condolences to the Blatz family - I knew Joe nearly all my life, and I will always be thankful that his generous letter of recommendation helped offset a less than perfect undergrad transcript when I applied to law school. He was a hero to me and will be missed.

To all the children of JVB, I share your loss, and want to extend my deepest sympathy and celebrate the joy of his life well spent. Having had the privilege of being his secretary at the law office and senate, I witnessed the true respect given to him. He had great impact on everyone who knew and loved him. I thank the Good Lord for Joe in my life, and spending a few hours with him this spring. More than anything he valued his children. We are all blessed for having him in our lives.
