Had it not been for our mutual friend, the Dame of Palm Beach, Brownie McLean we would have never met. Why I don´t know but I vividly recall our last dinner at Cafe L´Europe on the Island when you specifically challenged me on several fronts as you often did. Jerome: You enriched my life and were the best friend, advocate, advisor and “partner” anyone could ever wish for. I’m so lucky you took such an interest in my development and well being at such an early age. I loved your stories over the years and hung on to every word. I loved it when you became overheated expressing a viewpoint. Early, it scared me, but for most of my life I was able to just watch, listen and absorb. Mr. Fletcher, mortal men pale next to your distinguished accomplishments. Thank you for your leadership, your vision, and your expertise in building some of the finer things for which Florida is well-known.
