Not sure what to say?

Jerry, thanks for taking a chance on me as NEMC´s VP of Development. I learned what to do and what not to do in becoming a disciple of change. We raised good money and the work we did together played well when I became SVP at the Red Cross. Thank you!

One of my most vivid memories was of Jerry addressing David Trull, Peter Van Etten, Judith Kurland and me in a conference room at NEMC. Jerry Laos out some grand plan and when he left the room, the four of turned to each other as if to say I heard it. But I dont understand it - yet. Now what do we do? And that was why I went from PennMed to NEMC. Because Jerry was an innovator, a visionary, a risk taker. My guess is hes in heaven pestering God to try something new!

I saw him at our 50th High School reunion in September for the 1st time in about 20 years, but always got word of his admirable accomplishments. Heartfelt condolensces to his family.

When I think of the most important boss i ever had, the one who pushed me to think farther and further, the one who challenged my assumptions, the one who always did the "advance work" for American medicine, I think of Jerry Grossman. Jerry assembled an extraordinary team of people around him - Judith, David, Peter - and he assembled them because they gravitated toward his sheer magnetism, his boundless enthusiasm, his eagerness to solve tough problems.

His family, of course, have the deepest loss, and we all have tremendous sympathy for them. We, the great army of people who count themselves as Jerry's friends, all have holes in our lives. All of us as a society are the poorer, for not having the chance to continue benefiting from Jerry's insights.

Thank you, Jerry, for your leadership and...
