Before his deployment, Jerome Lemon could often be found reading his Bible and ready with a comforting word for his unit''s younger soldiers. "I am concerned about where we are going. But I''m not worried," Lemon told his hometown newspaper. "I''m doing this for my country." Lemon, 42, of North Charleston, S.C., died Oct. 27 when his convoy was ambushed. He was stationed at Kingstree, S.C. Lemon worked his way up through the ranks at several local law enforcement agencies and joined the state Highway Patrol in 1990. Kevin Manning, an officer with the state Department of Natural Resources, said Lemon was the happiest guy you could ever meet. "He would always help you if he could." The two roasted hogs together. "Jerome was a wonderful person, and his lifelong dream was to serve his community as a law enforcement officer and he was living out that dream," said longtime friend state Rep. Douglas Jennings. Lemon is survived by his wife, Shelia, and four children, Marcus, Darin, Jervon and Latasha.

While I didn’t know the Staff Sgt and State Trooper Lemon personally, I was homered to wear his name at a recent event horning fallen SC soldiers. Staff Sgt. And my dad are the same age; that reflection puts into perspective the amount of loss his family must have felt and continue to feel. Thank you for your sacrifice sir. It is not forgotten.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Lemmon Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in Afghanistan. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God...

To the family and friends of Staff Sgt. Jerome Lemon:
Please accept my remembrance of Jerome on the anniversary of his passing and know that he will never be forgotten.

When I last heard from him, he'd been fit and well, it was what he lived for the cause that he died. Yet it was through our prayers that he returned from between the fight for peace and for our rights. So we'll think of our fallen Soldier, who grew up so brave, as we finally bid him, “Goodnight”. Sleep well my fearless warrior, friend, and mentor with the sleep of just, for a while.

To the family of Staff Sgt Lemon: I served with Jerome's brother Charles in Iraq. WE will always REMEMBER him!

To the family of Staff Sgt Lemon: Jerome will always be remembered as a good friend, and person. I worked with him at Charleston International Airport. He was always in a good mood, would always try to make other people laugh, when they were having a bad day, no matter who they were. We got to be good friends, and he will always be in my thoughts and prayers. He was a Hero to alot of people!

To the family and friends of Staff Sgt. Jerome Lemon:
Remembering Jerome on the anniversary of his passing. May our fallen heroes never be forgotten!
