Read MoreI enjoyed a friendship with Jerry for over 20 years. Previous generations of our families knew each other. We had many interesting conversations, usually about Catholicism, Catholic education, and the Irish in Cleveland. Jerry was a devout Catholic and very proud of his Irish heritage. To borrow a quote from an Irish Blessing, Jerry, "Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His Hand."

Jerry, As English Dept.Chair, you welcomed me to a new world at St. Joe's in '78. From the classroom to Chalta and workshops at Dayton, and liturgies at St. Paschal's, you proved yourself a man of faith, a witness to the value of Catholic/Christian education and one whose friendship I will always cherish.
