Not sure what to say?

I always tell people about what a wonderful person you were. Always giving, a true inspiration to all. I always say that if I can be half the man that Jerry was, I would be a great man. Rest in peace my brother.

I had the chance to meet Jerry Massie during the Summer of 1994 while I was an intern of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) at the PTO facilities in the Department of Commerce in Crystal City Virginia. He was designated as my mentor by Dr. Sha, Jerry was a hard worker, very professional, patient, timely, friendly and supportive person. I remember that at that time I was close to completing my bachelor’s degree and after the internship work, the rest of the interns...

I was thinking about you the other day and what a great man you are!

Rest in Peace Brother!

Dear Annie,

Just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you. I think of you and the girls often. I also think of Jerry and what a loss it is to the world. I hope you and the girls are doing okay.

Dear Annie, I have been thinking about you and the girls a lot and hoping you are doing ok. I know how tough it must be, especially this time of year with Jerry's birthday and the holidays. It is so nice to read all the wonderful letters about Jerry. He means so much to so many! His life was short, but so very full! My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you.

Dear Ann, Caitlin and family,

There are no adequate words to express the shock and sadness that tremored through our family this day as we heard of Jerry's passing. He gave us so much in our path toward Colleen's athletic future. From basketball to softball - he guided, taught and laughed with enthusiasm. His energy for living and attack on life's endeavors motivated by example beyond the words he used to encourage. What a tremendous man! What a gift to community and friends....

Dear Massie Family,
Coach Massie was one of my first basketball coaches and the first coach I remember that really taught me about the game of basketball. More importantly are the lessons he taught us about life. His enthusiasm for basketball and life was contagious and I am thankful for the opportunity to have played basketball for him. I hope I can be the same type of inspiration to the girls I now coach that Coach Massie was to me. My thoughts and prayers are with the Massie Family....

Massie Family,

As a former basketball player and sport enthusisast for Mr. Massie, he will be extremely missed by the athletic community.

All my prayers are with you.

Love,
Kristen Shaffer
