He was my roommate in Vietnam and my closest friend in the Marines 1967-1968. Sorry he passed. I was trying to reach out to him and discovered he died .

I offer my deepest condolences to the Murphy family. I got to know about Dr. Muphy through his daughter, Kat, who is my coworker. She shared stories and photos. She told me how excited Dr. Murphy was when the Cubs won the World Series. Rest in Peace my fellow Cubs' fan. Thank you for your service.

Jerry Murphy was such a good guy. Quiet, gentle, contemplative, smart, compassionate. All of these. I knew him, and his brothers, from Rainbow. The above qualities didn't prevent him from being fiercely competitive on the court, all the while a perfect gentleman. His friend and doubles partner (after Allen had passed) Norby Gilmack used to say "if there was one guy you'd want to hit a kill shot to win a match, Jerry was that guy". I have never met you, however I hear so much about you and your accomplishments in life. Condolences to your family. I am a handball player from Rainbow Beach.
