Jerome was born on April 14, 1935, in Atchison, KS, the son of Gerard Benedict Seeger and Genevieve Eleanor (Kane) Seeger. He attended catholic schools in Atchison for his entire education; beginning at St. Joseph Grade School, was a graduate of the 1953 class of Maur Hill Prep and finished at St. Benedict’s College.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, Anti-Aircraft Division, from 1 MAR 1955 until his honorable discharge on 30 JAN 1962. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Independence and also enjoyed mass at St. Robert Bellarmine in Blue Springs. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion in Independence, MO.

Jerry had a rewarding and prosperous career. He began working with Montgomery Ward in Atchison, and later moved on to Gehring Construction and then LFM Rockwell Manufacturing. In 1959, he relocated to Independence, MO, and started as a salesman for West Chemical in Kansas City, MO, and continued in the sales industry at DuBois Chemical and S.C. Johnson until his retirement. Jerry never met a stranger and was known for being the first one to the party and last to leave. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He married Gloria Bluma on January 25, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Church in Atchison and they shared over fifty years of marriage before her passing on August 29, 2013. Not sure what to say?

My husband an I were friends with Jerry and Gloria for over 50 years. Enjoyed many trips to Hawaii and many mustang shows. Condolences to the family.

My father Tom Bush was a huge Jerome fan and they were lifelong friends for sure. I hope they have already connected in heaven. They are not far from each other at Mount Calvary. Every time I visit my Dad’s grave, I always walk over to the Seeger headstone. Prayers for the Seeger family - the Bush family is thinking about you.

Jerome was a great man that would never forget a face, and always say hello. I am related to Jerome (Kane) as we have our family reunions every year he an I would visit to catch up on the past. He will be missed. To the family sorry for your loss.

Jerry sold me Dubois Chemicals scrubber soap about 40 years ago at the Safeway Distribution Center. I remember him well and he was the best of the best. I remember his interest in car and truck projects. My condolences to the family

Single Tree

Jerome was my cousin Gloria´s husband, but he was my cousin too at least that´s how I felt. He was a very special person and a very kind and caring person. He always had a smile for everyone. I will miss him. My thoughts are with his family.

Jerome was one of my most favorite cousins. He was always kind and always had a smile on his face. We will miss him as we have Gloria. May God be with all of his family during these next few days and weeks.
