I was sorry to hear of J.R.'s passing. He was a great neighbor and friend. Our prayers are with Pat and the family.

Pat, Norm and I thought this story might interest you. I believe it was sometime in the late '70's or early 80's, JR apparently got a new "Peoria Fire Fighters" jacket and gave Norm his old one. As years passed, the already used red jacket with white logo became more and more ratty with Norm's added wear and tear, and I urged Norm to get rid of it and get a new one. He would say, "But that's my JR jacket." In 2002 I finally bought Norm a new black jacket to replace it, but the now-crummy...
