Jerre Hale Paxton

Jerre was one of the most generous and kind people that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He was my neighbor for the past 10 years and I am grateful for the opportunity to have gotten to know him. My daughter and I will always be appreciative for all that he did for us during a rough period in our lives. Despite the gruff exterior, he had one of the most gentle souls. The 24th floor will never be the same!

Jerre was truly one of a kind in his personality and his contribution to the Thoroughbred industry in Washington and nationwide. His soft spoken nature didn't reveal his comprehensive knowledge of racing and breeding. His success at Emerald Downs was legendary and fans were always excited to see the great horses he ran locally. He is one that will never be replaced.
