Not sure what to say?

Jerre and I were good pals in high school. I think we first bonded because we both read books. He had read everything! He had a world map on the wall of his bedroom marked with current events. I spent several weekends at the Fate house on Pickerel. He and his folks always made me feel welcome. So long, Jerre.

Jerry enthusiastically welcomed us to Oakwood and to Kalamazoo over 20 years ago. He also welcomed our boys as they were born and enjoyed watching them grow up. We are grateful, will miss him and will cherish the wild flowers he shared with us and that continue to creep over from his yard to ours.

Many sincere, heartfelt regards from my family and I to all of you for your condolences and memories of my strange, yet one of a kind Uncle Jer.

I always referred to Jerre as my adopted uncle. I remember one time when I was ill. He brought me over a bowl of homemade matzoh ball soup and had me eat it. He said that it would make me feel better. And it worked. He was a wonderful friend of the family and will be missed more than I can say. Everytime I saw him at D&W, he would always ask how I was doing as well as my daughter Kayleigh. He called her his adopted great niece. Uncle Jerre will always hold a place in my heart. I love you and...

It has been several years since I last saw Jerre. I will always remember the year the Oakwood Neighborhood Association held a Board member retreat and Jerre and I got stuck in the snow in the middle of no-where Gobles. Luckily a wonderful couple let us stay the night and we drove back to Kalamazoo in the morning. I will always remember him sitting at the BOD meetings arguing for the betterment of the neighborhood. I'll miss you Jerre. You were a wonderful man and I know many people will...

You were such an awesome guy to talk to. You always knew what to say when you came in to D&W and talked with me. I'm going to miss you so much. You're such a nice guy an always there! Much Love Jerre!

I'm told you never lost your fabulous enthusiasm for darn near everything.
