Jerry L. Ausherman

Jerry and I put out many papers together. He shared stories about his life and loved to laugh during long shifts. He worked for The Frederick News-Post for decades; I believe for the majority of his working life. Jerry was an encyclopedia of local history and was one of few people around qualified to do what he did. When I knew him, writing headlines was his second nature. He could prepare entire editions every night before midnight. This is work that requires everlasting care and discipline....

he worked night shift and loved it. always great to see him come into the building ready to go to it. he brought joy to his co-workers, and dedication to his job.

Worked with Jerry for many years at the FNP. A go-to co-worker to get things done. Prayers for the family. RIP Jerry.

You could always count on Jerry to make things right at the newspaper. He took pride in his work and it showed. Jerry, I miss you and will always have fond memories of the days we worked together.
