Jerry Donald Avant Sr.

My prayers are with all of you. We will miss his sweet encouragement every Saturday.He loved every moment of watching those boys play ball. I know he will continue to encourage and cheer Logan on from the sidelines in Heaven.

I absolutely love this photo of Mr. Avant, and the beautiful words describing his life and his legacy could not be more perfect. He was the best neighbor I ever could have asked for, and I am so sorry I won't be able to make him one more batch of those cookies he enjoyed so much. I will certainly miss my back door neighbor as we lovingly referred to Jerry. He & Nyla were dear friends through many years. He was always willing to help me, and he visited Bill often before he passed. Sometimes Jerry would join me on my walk around our huge block. His pace was slow but steady. He always had a long stick in his hand. I brough him one back from Mexico one time. Nyla had him put some of the fish he caught in one of our ponds one time. Jerry was a catch and release fisherman....
