Dear Pat,
I also saw Jerry's obituary in today's paper. You and I have not had any contact for the over 40 years since we were part of the frosh English and social studies team at Marshall. However, I remember you well when your children were young. I am so sorry you have to endure this loss.

Pat, I read Jerry's obituary in today's paper. Thanks for having done that, and am satisfied I had a couple of days to know beforehand.
