BANKS, Jerry W. - Of Burton, age 66, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1:30PM Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to the Shriner?s Hospital for Crippled Children. Visitation 5-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Jerry was born in Bragg City, Missouri on December 30, 1939.He served in the U.S. Marines. He had a very good sense of humor and he was loved by anyone who met him. Mr. Banks was past owner of the Oasis Tavern in St. Louis, Missouri. Surviving are daughter, Sherri and husband Barry Forster of Burton; grandsons, Jerad and Jordan; brothers, George Banks, Jr., Curtis and wife Kim Banks, all of Flint; sisters, Phyllis and husband Russ Conklin of Fenton, Sharon (LuLu) and husband Don Mraz of St. Helen; several nieces, nephews and a host of special friends from Missouri to Michigan. He was preceded in death by parents, George and Gertrude Banks; sister, Donna Ehrenberg; uncle, Glenn Banks and his loving companion of 30 years, Mary Arnold.

I had known Jerry since I was a very young boy. He treated me like I was his own and I loved him deeply for that. The love that he had for my grandmother Mary was a love that most people can only hope for. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. We have all lost on of the "great one's"

Sherry,Aunt Phyllis,Uncle Russ,Aunt LULu,& all my cousins,we are all sorry to hear about the death of our uncle. We all loved him very much.He brought joy and happines to many.We wont forget his pranks that made Us all laugh we have you all in our hearts at this terrible time.Please stay in touch with me.
