Jerry Barber

I met Jerry Barber when I took his World History class at DuVal High School in Maryland. I was still in touch with him when he lived in DC, including in the J.P. Sousa home, but not since. I heard rumors occasionally that he was involved in the operation of a cinema, or something similar.

In the Summer of '76, I went to UDLA in Cholula, Mexico. He was no longer there, but I met people who had known him (the name Nevia springs to mind) and who had a difficult time believing...

I first met Jerry when he was my World History teacher at DuVal about '68. I haven't been in touch since he worked for AMC, but always hoped and believed that we would meet again. I'm very sorry that possibility is gone now. He was a prince among toads.

I remember being a little 5-year-old girl sitting in cousin Gerry's backyard in a cool tub of water in the sweltering Maryland heat. Even at 13-years-old, he was a handsome fellow, blonde and tall. But that dark summer night, he was lurking in the shadows like Vincent Price, telling hair-raising stories he'd made up on the spot, making me shiver in the heat. Oh, Gerry was wonderful! We wanted to marry him when we grew up -- or someone just like him.

JERRY WAS LIKE THE OTHER BIG BROTHER WHEN BOB AND HE WERE TOGETHER. A LOT OF FUN WITH THE BOTH OF THEM. JERRY WILL BE MISSED. MIKE PLANT (COUSIN)

Jerry had a wonderful sense of humor and I had the 'pleasure' of the Terpmobile one afternoon in Jersey while Jerry had me out looking for houses....he lived life which says a lot and he was someone I appreciated during my time at AMC!
