It's taking a while to accept Jerry's loss. Our grandfathers were Connell brothers, born in Illinois, raised in Nebraska, and settled in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Jerry's family lived a bit north of the Hills in Newell, while I grew up in the far southern Hills, in Hot Springs. We really didn't connect until our early teens when we began exchanging summer visits.
