Reading the guest book comments, it is obvious that Jerry was a talented, loving and caring person. I am sorry that I did not have the chance to get to know him when I was at Vigor.

I used to go to Lockehill and he substituted my classes alot. He was my favorite substitute during my whole 6 years. He would hug me every time I saw him in the hall, and I would see him at church. I will miss him very much.

I worked with Col Bedingfield as an enlisted man at RAF Chicksands in the 1980s, supporting him on occasion during the base exercises as a member of the Command Post team. Once during an exercise we were simulating a chemical attack and he despised (as we all did) wearing the gas mask, which we had to keep on for hours while trying to communicate with other parts of the base. I regret that I did not get to know Jerry when I attended Vigor (Class '62). I know he surely was a great patriot, and like him I, too, "Touched the Face of GOD" as a USAF Aircrew member. May HE whose face we both touched as we served in different areas of the sky, bless you as a family and may GOD wrap his loving arms around each of you at this time. AIM HIGH, COL. Thank You for your service to our GOD, our nation and to your family.

While I didn't know Col Bedingfield very well. I do know he was respected and admired. He had a calm presence. We served together in England. RIP brother.

Dear Lorraine, Nancy, Kelly and Steven,
What an honor it was to serve under your father's command, and also to know each of you personally. Though his time on earth is through, know that his influence will continue on though the Airmen he commanded and mentored, the students whose life he came into contact with, and finally and most importantly your lives!
We are saddened at your loss, but know that your faith will see you through. Prayers of comfort for all!
