Dear Cheek family: Jerry and Linda Cheek and their son Edward were very kind and welcoming to us when we first moved to Portland in 1978 and rented their house on NE 80th Street. You may not remember us, but Helen and I were young newlyweds with a black lab named Phoebe and a UHaul truck full of belongings moving from Michigan for a new job at the Port of Portland.
