Not sure what to say?

Jerry was an amazing man touching so many lives. May he live on in our hearts forever. Jerry would want us all to be the best that we can be to every man, woman & child. Today, and every day, be a better person in giving love to strangers to honour Jerry's memory. Love to the entire Colbert family.

God Bless this dedicated man. His legacy in life will be all his great causes. But especially his founding & producing of "A Capital Fourth" & "The National Memorial Day Concerts". For all the Americans seeing them every Memorial Day it was a very special & moving experience. It was for me, never Memorial Day without this program. How much he elevated the Wounded Veterans & all the Retirees was a God Send to America. He produced a "Placemat" celebration, just what our veterans & America...

I lived with Jerry, Bob Jr. and the family in Boylston MA when I was sixteen and seventeen in 1956 and 1957. I had met them several years before when their carnival played in North Scituate Rhode Island and Bobby and I became friends. Jerry was the "baby" brother and we called him "Hubba". He was a great kid and we had many adventures the scariest of which was when I was driving the old International truck on Cape Cod carrying the cookhouse and propane tanks and fell...

Jerry brought great joy to my brother Jim Osta who also served in Chicago at Catholic Lay Extension. Jim was glued to the Capitol Fourth and the Memorial Day Concert and spoke glowingly of Jerry. He was able to call him and tell him of his admiration. He told all of us in his family. So now they are sharing eternity. Jim died February 27, 2016. They will know we are grateful for the two of them and their friendship and global caring.

I was a teenage friend and fellow hockey player with Jerry some 60 years ago in Worcester. I was a Career Navy man so lost track of Jerry and many childhood friends. I remember Jerry as a fun guy to be with .. always enjoying life and friendships. The world was a better place thanks to Jerry. My most sincere condolences on his loss.

Sympathy and prayers to Eileen, John, Michael and the family. May Jerry rest in the peace of Christ.

So so sad to hear this message tonight. I wish I had known for I would have attended the service and given you all a hug. I so enjoyed meeting him and enjoyed all our decorating adventures together' right Eileen?? He had his own style and enjoyed the creative process. Look for ways now that will make you laugh as he will be sending you all secret messages. Love, Mary Sliney

God was missing one of his best & called him home. Our condolences & prayers to Jerry's wonderful family.

My deepest condolence to his family and friends. May our god of love bring you great comfort. Isaias 9:9
