Jerry always tried to be kind and helpful to me, sharing his home and hobbies. We shared some heartaches in life as well. May he rest in peace.

I met Jerry about 2 1/2 years ago when I became a volunteer at the San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park. Jerry was obviously very smart and had an interesting past. Jerry was a longtime friend as we went to Tecate to do free eye surgeries and other eye work. Whenever we were both staying overnight we were roomies. I always said he was like Cliff on Cheers. He always had facts about things that only a few people in the world would know. He was a great volunteer in our clinic and will be sorely missed. Pat Griffith
