Not sure what to say?

Jerry and I were co-workers and friends for years when we both lived in Portland, OR. He was one of the most passionately sincere people I ever met. I am sorry for his passing.

I worked with Jerry at The San Jose Repertory Theatre in San Jose, Califonia. Jerry had a hat he would wear in the summertime that was similar to the character, "Big Daddy" in the film called Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He would chuckle every time one of us would greet him and use the moniker. I think he quite liked it. Jerry will always be "Big Daddy" to me and though we were not in contact frequently after he left The Rep, I will always think of him fondly.

I just heard the news about Jerry. What a loss! My partner, Gary Perkins, and I met Jerry in the 1990s. We enjoyed working with Jerry tremendously. We worked together on numerous issues. For example, Jerry was a tremendous help in our work for single-payer universal health care reform for Washington State. Gary and I enjoyed all our affiliations with Jerry and the whole Mike Lowry group. Those were exciting times! I remember clearly the time Gary and I visited Jerry and Thom at their home in...

Jerry was a conscientious, effective, hard-working man of great integrity. He left a positive impact on the communities where he lived and worked.

I hosted Jerry when he first came to Oregon in the early '90's, as he was hired to fund-raise for the No on 9 Campaign and I was the campaign treasurer. We remained friends ever since. I have always admired his fervor for his clients, his passionate interest in regional history and his wry sense of humor and delight! Too young and too talented to leave us!

Words can not express my deep sympathy for the family of Jerry. I am so very sorry for your loss.
