Not sure what to say?

It was an honor to know Jerry, with a sadden heart he was my friend and confidant. We have lost a best friend. I will treasure all of the memories i have of him and cherish his memory forever. I will truly miss cutting his hair. God bless all of you. Your friend Sally Russell

It was an honor to be a friend of Jerry's and i will treasure the memories i have of him forever. The days will get easier and the pain in your heart will lessen and those wonderful memories will fill all the voids. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Trent Futrell was a student in my sixth grade reading class in Franklin, Tennessee. I shall never forget the day that Dr. Futrell came to see Trent in the play. For whatever reason, Dr. Futrell's name was not on the "release" list, so I could not allow him to take Trent home. Instead, I offered both Trent and Dr. Futrell a soft drink and a time to spend together in the teacher's lounge. Crossing the Bar

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

The flood may...

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Mr. Futrell at Smith County Memorial while he was the administrator. He did so much for that facility and everyone loved him. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by many. He sang at my Fathers funeral in 1984. I will never forget him. Peace to the family.

I have not had the opportunity to get to know you (the family) as well as I have your father, but I want you to know how deeply sorry I am at his loss. Jerry has been a great friend to me over the last several years and a wonderful choir member, and he will be greatly missed. He was a great man and it was my honor to call him friend.

Andy, Ken, Trent and families:

Kathy and I extend our sympathy to all of you due to Jerry's death. He was our friend, had visited with us in Kentucky and we always enjoyed being with him.

May you all be comforted by the happy memories he left with you.

Sincerely,

Kathy and Roy Palk
