As a first cousin I have fond memories of all of us growing up in Coaldale. Me and my brothers always enjoyed playing and spending the night at your house.I can still smell the biscuits and bacon cooking from Aunt Polly's kitchen. Uncle Curt would be in the easy chair reading the Birmingham News.

I was shocked and saddened by the call from Curtis Thursday night. I had just spoken with Jerry a few days ago and we discussed a visit soon.

We grew up together, played in the band together and maintained some contact over the years. I can say without reservation that I have never known another who was a kinder or a more sincere friend.

I will miss him and I cherish every memory we shared.
