Jerry A. Johansen

Jerry Alan Johansen, the son of Harold and Arlene (Kroenke) Johansen, was born December 15, 1957, in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville at the age of 50. He received his education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1976. He also attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville and Jackson Vocational Technical Institute. Jerry lived his entire life in Estherville and was employed at Golden Sun Feeds in Estherville, Polaris Industries in Spirit Lake, Iowa and Day Break Foods. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye's and Minnesota Twin's fan. Jerry especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville. Left to cherish Jerry's memory are his son's, Jason Johansen of Estherville; Jake Johansen of Algona, Iowa; his mom and dad, Harold and Arlene Johansen of Terril, Iowa; his twin sister, Jane Preston and her husband, Paul of Swea City, Iowa; brother, Stan Johansen and his wife, Marilyn of Terril, Iowa; brother, David Johansen and his wife, Mary of Irven, California; and sister, Sue Berberich and her husband, Troy of Royal, Iowa. Preceding Jerry in death were his grandparents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials.
